Smutty Thought of the Day: Swinging
Today’s Smutty Thought is about Swinging. Why? Because there are two ways to use the word.
When your coworkers know you write smut and have read the anthology you put out with your writing group (pun totally intended), they like to come to you and say ‘hey, have you thought about writing [insert sexy scenario here]?’ and [more often than not] I love that. This time someone asked me ‘have you written anything about swinging?’
It means they are enjoying what I’ve written and they want to help me generate more smutty goodness. There isn’t enough in the world, you know. Maybe someday there will be… Nah, never enough smut in the world.
I had to ask for clarification. For me, the first thing that popped into my head is not the adult key-parties of the 70s and 80s, but a sex swing. No idea why, but my mind is weird. Also, swinging parties have upgraded from the shag carpet and a bowl full of car keys. Or, I think they have anyway. I haven’t been to one so I wouldn’t know.
Swinging isn’t for everyone. It’s always best to have an ongoing conversation with your partner(s) regarding sexual pursuits and activities. If you and your partner(s) are interested in swinging, a relationship contract (like a BDSM Contract) might be a good place to start.
Also note that polyamory and swinging aren’t technically the same thing. If you’re already in a polyamorous relationship, swinging is an aspect of your relationship, not the relationship itself.
